A common “non-critical” procedure would be to thoroughly clean the parts by re-circulating hot water and detergent. Parts that contain higher concentrations of hydrocarbons and grease will, most likely, require solvent cleaning. Certain jobs are required to be thoroughly dried following cleaning. In these cases, we will typically circulate isopropyl alcohol through the part followed by a thorough nitrogen purge. Other, more critical jobs might even require the dryness of the part to be verified dry to a certain dew point level (i.e. -40°F). In these cases, we will have the dryness verified by an independent outside party. Finally, certain jobs will require that the part be shipped with a nitrogen blanket. In these cases, gauges will be installed to verify that the part has the proper blanket when it leaves our facility.
